Lower floor level (LFL) means a finished floor level which is 1.5 metres or less above datum ground level at any point.
A lower floor level is a finished floor level that is no more than 1.5 metres above datum ground level at every relevant point. On a sloping block, a floor that appears close to ground level on one side may be more than 1.5 metres above ground on the downhill side and may therefore be classified as an upper floor level. The classification can affect setbacks, building envelope and privacy controls.
