The characteristics of an area, street, or building that contribute to the comfort, convenience, and wellbeing of users through the provision of facilities and services.

Plain English

Amenity is the quality and comfort experienced by occupants and neighbours. It includes daylight, sunlight, privacy, outlook, ventilation, noise, usable open space, safety and convenient access. It is assessed as a combined living-quality issue rather than one measurement alone.
